There’s something magical about this villa perched right on the beach
where the sound of the waves lull you to sleep at night. It’s one of
very few built in the secluded sandy cove of Glen Beach, Camps Bay - a
true hidden gem. But it’s even more special when your villa appears to
be tailor made to keep you comfortable, cool and happy, with space to
entertain new friends or to relax completely with not a care in the
world.

Access to this serene beauty is via steps, through a carved wooden gate
and into the top floor of the villa. Exposed ceiling beams, fans and a
cool interior in soothing whites and creams welcome you into the
open-plan lounge, fully-equipped kitchen and dining area, which flows
directly onto a deck overlooking the beach. The look is contemporary
beach house meets relaxed glamour - something that supermodel owner,
Tanya Fourie, is so good at. So you’ll find yourself on one of the white
ostrich-skin bar stools lining the thick and glossy kitchen divider,
sipping a cocktail or cocooning with a book in the organic,
contemplative pod-shaped chair in the corner. Contrasts of texture and
style add personality but the only colour is the mesmerizing blue sea
ahead.
Four bedrooms and three bathrooms, with two en suite, are on the middle
floor, the main en-suite at the front of the villa having its own
balcony and lounge area with a gas fireplace. Moroccan lamps, fresh
orchids and a spa bath with the most beautiful view add to this
indulgent suite. The other three bedrooms also have a touch of romance
with four-poster beds or muslin canopies, adding to the ambience. Good
reads are tucked into bedside tables and everywhere, the emphasis is on
sensual, tactile comfort. In the evening, the house glows with subtle
lighting and candles, with Moroccan lanterns for the outdoor decks.
Downstairs is a self-contained suite including a fully equipped kitchen,
dining area, living room with plasma screen and a fifth, en-suite
bedroom with a four-poster bed. Both the bedroom and the living area
open directly through sliding glass doors onto the private plunge pool
on the wooden deck outside. It’s also a perfect place to barbeque and to
lounge on the decadent day bed next to the pool or enjoy an alfresco
breakfast. The beach is a hop, skip and a jump away through a gate in
the garden wall, and a hot outdoor shower awaits after your invigorating
dip. In the early morning you’ll often have the beach to yourself ?
unless a surfer or two is riding the waves.
There’s parking in a single garage 500m away but parking is easy on the
road above the house.
